Where is SkyStar located?
The SkyStar Wheel in located on the waterfront in San Francisco's world-famous Fisherman's Wharf, between Pier 39 and Boudin Bakery. The historic F-Line street car has a stop directly in front of SkyStar, and bike parking is available on site. Car parking is available in the adjacent parking lot at 2860 Taylor Street click here. There are many other parking lots in the area.
What are the hours of operation?
SkyStar Wheel is open 10am to 10pm daily.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are required for our VIP experience. Reservations are not required for general admission tickets. General admission tickets may be used any
day or time.
Is SkyStar wheelchair accessible?
SkyStar is fully accessible for all guests needing assistance. Please notify the ticketing agent at the ticket kiosk if you will require assistance before proceeding to the queue line. Please note our VIP gondola is not wheelchair accessible.
I see that children under 2 ride free. Does my baby need a ticket to board?
Children under 2 do not need a ticket to board.
Do I have to bring a printout of my ticket?
A paper ticket is not required. We can scan a paper ticket or a PDF version on your mobile device.
What time should I arrive? Will I have to wait?
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to a VIP reservation and let the greeter or ticketer know you have arrived. Reservations are not required for General Admission tickets. General Admission tickets are first come first served. If you would like to skip the line, please check out our VIP Experience.
How many can fit inside each gondola?
We can seat between 1 and 6 adults inside each gondola. The VIP gondola seats 5. Each person over age 2 must have their own ticket. Children under age 2 may sit in an adult’s lap.
Do you shut down for rain?
Our gondolas are fully enclosed, so rain won't put a damper on your day. If rain is in the forecast, we recommend bringing an umbrella or raincoat to keep you dry while you wait. SkyStar does operate in rain and fog. In case of inclement weather, please visit our Facebook page for real-time updates.
Can we bring outside food/beverage?
We do not allow outside food/drinks in the gondolas. If you’d like to have a picnic before or after your ride on the Wheel, we recommend getting takeout from one of the great local restaurants in the neighborhood.
How long does a ride last?
General admission rides are 9-12 minutes, and our VIP experience is about 20 minutes.
What are your rider restrictions?
There are no restrictions pertaining to weight, height, or age.
Are pets allowed?
Only service dogs are allowed inside the gondolas.
Do you allow strollers on board?
If the stroller fits, you may bring it on board. You may also leave your stroller near the ticket booth before you get in line. Please note there is nowhere to leave your stroller once you enter the line.
